Once you learned who were the go to people, the resort was excellent! There was live music at the central building each night. It didn't take long to figure out which people were on the ball and which were just doing the minimum effort to do the job. She was able to calm him with ease and not only cleaned the spill quickly, but had a replacement drink for him as well. Of all the servers in the pool area, she was a truly outstanding example of excellence! I watched her quickly clean up a spilled drink by a man a table over, who was embarrassed he had spilled it so clumsily. That basic request never made it through a server except once, through one server, Rose, who went out of her way to get me change for a $20 from other facilities before they had really more than opened the bar to have change. I did find that as long as they prepared the mojitos the way I asked, they were always very good. As one would expect, the several bartenders at each bar vary greatly in their experience and their drink recipes. The two large bars at the main pool, with several servers walking the pool, mean you won't ever be without a drink for long. Games, water aerobics, even cooking classes are featured daily. When you have staff that engage with guests, it makes it a better time. There were a a couple large pools to choose from and may bars, both inside, on the beach, and at multiple locations in the pools. The pool 'entertainment' staff at the pool was absolutely excellent! Lorenzo, Alex, Jeremy and Sonya made the experience great! I am sorry I don't know the names of the others, but these were the ones that really engaged with us. We ate at a different style restaurant every night, with only one repeat. ![]() Lots of interesting wildlife and the wildlife seems quite calm around people. The grounds are beautiful, with well manicured shrubs, trees and grass. House keepers were very responsive and we could leave them a note with what we needed and they always came through. Half the room circuits and the AC went off for almost a half hour and then magically came back on. It happened the last evening when I stayed in the room. Each night in the middle of the night the AC would go off for some time, but the clock and some lighting circuits stayed on. I do suspect that they have some sort of rotating partial blackouts for electrical reasons though. Other than the lock, everything in the room was quite nice and functioned well. He basically beat the lock with his screwdriver until he broke the bolt loose enough to lock it. I explained we only needed to lock it, as we could use the sliding door to access our patio and the beach. The man was there within 3 minutes with a screwdriver. Wanting to be able to securely lock our room, I called for maintenance. ![]() It was obvious it had been corroded very badly and apparently, the previous months guests either didn't notice or care. When we checked in the room we discovered the outside entrance to the jacuzzi room had a door that would not lock. That being said, even though we accepted their discount offer to upgrade our rooms to beach view, we had to wait until almost 4 PM to actually get a room. At about $445 per night, I did expect a lot in return and we were not disappointed compared to many places we have stayed. We just returned from an 7 day visit at this resort.
